ChifEd Pulse

Privacy policy

Pulse doesn't collect any information about you or your students. This page explains what that means in practice.

Last updated 26 October 2026

The short version

  • No accounts. There's nothing to sign up for or sign in to.
  • Nothing leaves your device. Pulse works offline and never sends anything over the internet.
  • No tracking. No adverts, analytics or third-party code.
  • No microphone or camera. Pulse plays sounds; it never listens or watches.

What Pulse keeps on your device

Pulse remembers the settings you choose for each warm-up, such as the tempo, the time signature, the number of bars and the rhythm cards, so they're ready next lesson. These settings stay on your iPad or Android tablet. We can't see them, and deleting the app deletes them.

If you back up your device, Apple's or Google's backup may include these settings, as it would for any app. Those backups are covered by Apple's and Google's own privacy policies.

What Pulse doesn't collect

Pulse doesn't collect names, email addresses, contacts, photos, recordings, location, device identifiers, usage statistics or crash reports. It asks for no permissions that would let it.

Children

Pulse is made for teachers to use with their students in music lessons. Because it collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either.

If you email us

If you write to support@chifed.com, we'll use your email address and what you tell us only to reply and to help with your question. We don't add you to any mailing list or share your email with anyone else, and we delete it once we no longer need it to help you.

Under UK data protection law you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Changes to this policy

If Pulse ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches the app.
